The Child Enrichment Center (CEC) was founded in 1983 by church members as a ministry of the Holt United Methodist Church. We are a private, non-profit organization and are licensed yearly through the State of Michigan. Through the years the CEC has provided a loving and nurturing environment for young children and is known as being one of the highest quality child care/educational programs in the area. Located in the Holt UMC, the children spend their time with caring adults and friends in a loving, Christian environment.
The CEC is for children ages 6 weeks to Pre-Kindergarten. We have of 5 classrooms: Infants, Toddler I, Toddler II, Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten.
The CEC is open Monday through Friday from 7am to 6pm. A nutritional hot lunch is served family-style Monday through Friday from September to June. In the summer children bring sack lunches from home. Healthy snacks are provided in both the morning and the afternoon year round. Our center has a large fenced playground with several pieces of large play equipment and the children have daily access to a carpeted gym to ride trikes or just run off that 'kid energy!"
Our excellent program is based on:
A Christian philosophy
Low child/teacher ratios
Staff longevity - several with 25+ years
Developmentally appropriate lesson plans in all classrooms
Highly trained staff current on CPR, First Aid and BloodBorne Pathogen certification
Dedication to positive family relationships
Support from the Holt United Methodist Church
A safe, secure environment within the HUMC
Our goal is to surround children with an environment that will nuture them emotionally, physically, spiritually and educationally all while having tons of fun with friends and teachers!
